Interview: Kohei Uchimura, JPN

Kohei Uchimura took his first steps in gymnastics at the tender age of three, and it didn’t take long for his teachers to spot a natural aptitude for the sport. Uchimura painstakingly and successfully moved through each individual stage of training as those around him took note of his extraordinary talent and a particular knack for floor exercises. The day he met his current coach, 1984 Olympic Champion in Los Angeles Koji Gushiken, his career began to take off.
