Best of Baku: Russia, Belarus dominate first FIG World Cup Trampoline event of 201607/03/2016
Russia and Belarus split the titles at the AGF Trophy in Baku, the first of five World Cup events before this summer's Olympic Games, this past weekend in Azerbaijan.

In the absence of Chinese competitors who dominated November's World Championships in Denmark, the eastern Europeans reigned as masters of the discipline in the Azeri capital. 2014 World bronze medallist Hanna Harchonak's superior Time of Flight gave her victory over her 34-year-old teammate Tatsiana Piatrenia, and the two teamed up to win the Women's Synchro title.
Russia was equally successful in the Men's competition. A hit set packed with difficulty earned 2012 Olympic silver medallist Dmitrii Ushakov men's individual title. Like Harchonak in the women's competition, Ushakov then partnered with Nikita Fedorenko for gold in Men's Synchro.
In the face of Ushakov's performance, World silver medallist Uladzislau Hancharou (BLR) had to content himself with second place, both in the Men's competition as well as in Men's Synchro.
Portugal and Great Britain rounded out the medal podiums. 2012 Olympian Katherine Driscoll took bronze in Women's individual, while Diogo Ganchino was third in the Men's competition. Ganchino, however, got to stand on the podium twice, winning a second bronze with partner Diogo Abreu in Men's Synchro.
