Acrobatic Gymnastics judges prepare for 2017-2020 cycle in Warsaw18/01/2017
The Polish Gymnastic Association hosted the 2017 – 2020 Intercontinental Judges’ Course for Acrobatic Gymnastics at the facilities of the Centrum Konferencyjno - Szkoleniowe in the capital city Warsaw from January 10 – 13, 2017.
Thirty-eight of the discipline’s best judges from 17 countries participated in the course, held at the beginning of each Olympic cycle in order to recertify the Brevet status, allowing them to judge at the international level. With the help of video examples, they practiced applying the rules in the updated Code of Points during the course, which ended with mandatory theoretical and practical examinations.
Aneta Orlowska, Secretary General of the Polish Gymnastic Association, and new FIG Technical Committee member Wieslawa Milewska led the Organising Committee that carried out the event, which was directed by Technical Committee President Rosy Taeymans (BEL) and supervised by FIG Executive Committee member Margaret Sikkens Ahlquist (SWE).
This Intercontinental Course will be followed by international courses from the end of January to April in Australia, Great Britain, Ukraine, USA and India.
With the 2017 – 2020 Intercontinental Judges’ Courses for Artistic and Aerobic Gymnastics having already been held in November and December, the remaining disciplines will have their respective courses January 16 – 22 in Baku (AZE - Rhythmic Gymnastics) and January 31 – February 5 in Sofia (BUL - Trampoline Gymnastics).
