From London to Brazil, Acrobatic Gymnastics is in demand when organizers want to put on a show.
After the buzz generated by the popular British Acro troupe Spelbound, which performed during the Closing Ceremonies of the 2012 Olympic Games, Brazilian Acrobatic gymnasts and Trampolinists have been tapped to perform during the Opening Ceremony of the FIFA World Cup, which gets underway in Rio de Janeiro on June 12.
More than 600 dancers and gymnasts will participate in the Opening ceremony, where performances will "showcase the diversity and beauty of Brazil," according to FIFA.com. One acrobatic gymnast interviewed for the site said he also hoped that performing in front of such a big audience would raise awareness of his own sport.
The Opening Ceremony of the World Cup will take place just a couple hours before the first match between Brazil and Croatia.
