Lausanne (SUI) FIG Office, November 05, 2008: For the 3rd time, there has been a further course has taken place in Namibia and the Sport of Aerobic Gymnastics is growing fast and it is a definite future sport in Africa. Good news for the discipline which growing internationally.
The Namibian organizers are pleased to emphasize that all funding for the 3 courses this year is only supplied internally and by Gregory Alcan. No money has been received from any other source for this development.

However from only South Africa doing Aerobic Gymnastics now Zimbabwe, Senegal, Namibia, Algeria, Tunisia and two countries for the future are becoming involved Mozambique as well as Angola, the country that collapsed due to war.

Once these countries are up and running their future with FIG will be more secure. Jerry Masia, President of the South African Gymnastics Federation and Valereis Geldenhuys, President of the NGF, have taken it upon us to ensure this development. This project will be achieved in one year only, due to the help of two beautiful young world gymnasts, Gregory Alcan and Xavier Julien, who a part the National development, they also did mass school development and reached more than 600 gymnasts. All the community would like to applause their dedication and their endeavour, to develop the youth at very little cost especially in Africa.

The proof of this is the First African Championships this year, in Namibia, from the 30th November to the 9th Dec. 2008. SA. Namibia as well as the Zone 3 Championships. Countries such as South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Tunisia and Algeria will be taking part. At the Championships they will with Mireille Ganzin present further courses to upgrade the coaches and ensure a stable future for this sport and then after this there is the FIG Level 1 course in SA.
