FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup

LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, February 2, 2012: Due to a conflict in scheduling, Japanese organisers for the FIG World Cup stage in Artistic Gymnastics, slated for April 14 - 15, 2012 in Tokyo, were forced to cancel the event.
 
The decision comes in response to an inability to coordinate major dates for gymnasts on the sport calendar with availability of the host broadcaster for production. A lack of television coverage would have a negative impact on announcer participation and bring about weighty financial consequences.
 
The FIG takes note of the decision and of the Japan Gymnastics Association's ongoing commitment to organise a World Cup event in April next in 2013.
