Will all roads lead to Wembley?

Lausanne (SUI), February 3, 2010: The FIG Executive Committee will soon meet in its head office in Lausanne. The allocation of the Olympic venue hosting the Rhythmic Gymnastics competitions in London 2012 will be one of the topics on the agenda.

A London delegation made of Head of Sport Competition David Luckes, Director of Transport, Olympic Delivery Authority Hugh Sunner and Gymnastics Sport Competition Manager Matthew Greenwood came to Lausanne to provide detailed information on the proposed solution to host Rhythmic Gymnastics competitions in Wembley.

This proposal, which differs from LOCOG original project, had aroused sustained discussions between the London organisers and the FIG, in particular as regards the transportation from the accommodation site of the gymnasts to the competition venue.

The final decision being in the hands of the FIG Executive Committee, organisers and gymnasts are anxious to hear the official news on February 28, 2010.
