LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, February 16, 2010: The FIG has decided to suspend the Portuguese Gymnastics Federation due to non payment of their financial dues. The dispute is about important debts due to the Trampoline World Championships organisers and to the organisers of World Age Groups Competitions in 2009 in St-Petersburg (RUS). The sanction was pronounced after numerous warnings and upon termination of the probative period.

This decision abides by the rules in force and it enters into force immediately. Therefore, Portuguese gymnasts may not participate anymore in any FIG calendar competition.

The suspension shall be cancelled upon settlement of the financial situation by the Portuguese Gymnastics Federation.
