42nd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships

ROTTERDAM (NED), July 24, 2010: The FIG and the organisers of the 42nd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, to be held in Rotterdam (NED), October 16 to 24, 2010 have conducted the drawing of lots of the gymnasts.

This draw has been conducted by the FIG Technical Committee Presidents, Adrian Stoica for the men’s competition and  Nellie Kim for the women’s, in the presence of the LOC President Geert Jan Sikkens and his staff.

The draw was made for the 73 participating federations, which have sent their definitive registration. 615 gymnasts (343 men and 272 women) have been registered, which sets a new record of participation. While 53 men’s and 44 women’s teams will compete, 33 men’s and 20 women’s individuals will be present on the Dutch soil.

The first medals will be awarded on Wednesday October 20, 2010, after the women’s team competition.
