Victoria Moors of Canada and Ryuzo Sejima of Japan will compete in the AT&T American Cup.
Colombia hosted the 122nd Academy in Cali during the second week of February. It was a Level 3 Academy for Aerobic Gymnastics and the first of that level in the Americas.
With the close of provisional registration for both the 12th Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships and the 5th World Age Group Competitions, tournaments look promising in terms of participant numbers.
The draw of the FIG Olympic competitions will be conducted on February 24, 2012, 1:00 pm at the FIG headquarters in Lausanne (SUI).

Coronation for Ali!

Lausanne (SUI) / FIG Office, December 22, 2010: The Jordanian gymnast Ali Al Asi has been just crowned Best Arab Athlete 2010 by HE Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Governor of Dubai and Deputy of the United Arab Emirates, at its recent meeting in Dubai.

With this award, Ali goes down as a legend in Arab sports. He owes this honour to his outstanding Rings results for the 2010 season and, more particularly, to the title he claimed over Japan’s Kazuki Machida, China’s Hong Kong native Kiu Chung Ng and the Netherlands’ Jeffrey Wammes at the 2010 FIG World Cup in Qatar.

The Best Athlete 2010 jury selected the Jordanian gymnast from among 132 Arab athletes from a variety of disciplines in contention for this prestigious award. The official ceremony will be held in January 2011 in the luxurious rooms of the Armani Hotel in Dubai’s Khalifah Tower.

This honour demonstrates the Jordanian Gymnastics Federation’s commitment to developing the discipline within and beyond its own borders; an appropriate return on an investment made by the gymnast himself, his entourage and the entire federation.
