LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, June 15, 2012: Bereft, the FIG recently learned of the violent and tragic death at the age of 92 of Ms Susi Urzynicok (GER), FIG Honorary Member since 1976.

Susi Urzynicok spent years championing the development of Women’s Artistic Gymnastics worldwide. Her activity on the FIG Board largely contributed to the expansion of the discipline over the second half of the 20th century.

The International Gymnastics Community extends its heartfelt condolences to her spouse and family, and holds on to the inspiring memory of a devoted and competent colleague.
