Irina Deleanu affair
 
LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, June 25, 2012: On June 20, 2012, the FIG Disciplinary Commission announced its verdict on the complaint, dated March 18, 2012, by the Cyprus Gymnastics Federation against Mrs Irina Deleanu (ROU) following her remarks in an interview televised by the Romanian channel Antenna1 on January 24, 2012.
 
In violation of Article 3 of the FIG Code of Discipline, the Commission condemns Irina Deleanu to the suspension of her membership of the Technical Committee of the European Gymnastics Union from the date of the said decision until December 31, 2016. Furthermore, part of the costs of the proceedings, namely CHF 5,000, are charged to Mrs Deleanu.
 
The decision may be appealed to the FIG Court of Appeals within 21 days of notification of the decision.
