2010 Internationaux de France
Paris (FRA), April 10 – 11, 2010

LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, April 13, 2010: During the last FIG World Cup event in Artistic Gymnastics prior to the upcoming European Championships in Birmingham (GBR), gymnasts from 14 nations claimed a spot on the podium at the 17th French International in Paris – Bercy last weekend.

With four Gold, one Silver and three Bronze medals, host nation France scored a victory in the country’s capital city before an enthusiastic crowd of 13,000 in the sold out Palais Omnisport of Paris-Bercy. Youna Dufournet (Women's Vault), Cyril Tommasone (Pommel Horse) and Samir Ait Said (Still Rings) left their nemesis in the dust, while Hamilton Sabot tied with Aliaksandr Tsarevich (BLR) for the title on Parallel Bars. Yann Cucherat was edged out by World All-around Champion Kohei Uchimura (JPN) on Horizontal Bar, and Gael da Silva took third place on Men’s Floor behind former World Champion Diego Hypolito (BRA) and Greek Eleftherios Kosmidis. Youna Dufournet grabbed the Bronze on Uneven Bars, placing right behind World Champion He Kexin from China and European Champion Elizabeth Tweddle (GBR).

Following up on the World title she claimed last October in London, Tweddle secured a win on Floor with a .9 margin over Russia’s Ramilya Musina. On Balance Beam, Wu Liufang of China prevailed over Aliya Mustafina (RUS) and Vasiliki Millousi (GRE).

In Men’s, Beijing and London finalist Isaac Botella Perez of Spain won the Gold over the Netherlands’ Jeffrey Wammes and Stanislav Valeiev (KAZ), who tied for second.
